Membership 2022-2023

We invite you to join Marlborough Orienteering Club and existing members to renew their membership. Membership runs from 1 July to 31 June annually. You can join any time of the year but you will gain greater benefits by joining early.

Benefits of membership

Member's rate to all events, typically <50% of non-member rates.

Member's rates for maps, training sessions and reciprocal rights with other New Zealand orienteering clubs.

Affiliation to Orienteering New Zealand (ONZ) – the national orienteering federation who promote and encourage the sport throughout New Zealand.

Membership subscriptions

Family - $60.00
Senior - $30.00 (19 or older)
Junior - $20.00 (18 or younger)

*A family is two seniors (19 or older) and any number of juniors.

Membership application and payment

We, along with all the other orienteering clubs in NZ have moved to an electronic membership database that is hosted by ONZ. The purpose of the new database is to simplify membership management and membership reporting.

ONZ needs to collect membership information to:

- comply with the Incorporated Societies Act 1908
- provide information to Sport NZ, to support our Community Sport Investment
- set the annual club affiliation fee, and
- most importantly for our club members it provides details on all the people (including all people within a Family) who have joined

Moving to an online database will ensure ONZ gets consistent membership information in a timely manner and clubs will no longer need to fill in membership returns. Clubs will have access to their members information through their club portal. ONZ will be able to access all club portals and all members information. Clubs cannot see members information from other clubs. Members can only see their own information.

Please submit your details online via the link - https://www.revolutionise.com.au/moc/  Reminder that when completing a Family membership that you MUST enter all the details of all the family members that you are signing up for the club membership. This allows us to easily track and reconcile entries and payments. You will be sent an email with the invoice details, club bank account and also a Reference.

We understand that there a lot of questions as part of the registration process.  These fields have been included by Orienteering New Zealand (ONZ) and are part of their reporting requirements to Sport New Zealand.  The data is aggregated so no personal data is passed on or used by the club.

Please note that the email address you enter will be used for communicating with you regarding your membership so please make sure its correct and is the primary contact.

People who were members for the 2021-2022 year will be soon receiving an auto-generated membership renewal and invoice. Please follow the links and details within this if you wish to renew your membership.

Volunteering

The club has no employees to run our events for us, we rely on members volunteering to help out.

As a club member, you are expected to help at least at one event during the year.  It's normally only a couple of hours, you get free entry for that event and you will still be able to do a course at some stage of the day.
